According to the Mary Kay Foundation, 1 in 4 women will experience domestic abuse in their lifetime. Organizations across the country are working together to reduce that statistic. Following are some grants that can help such organizations.

U.S. Department of Justice

The U.S. Department of Justice’s Office on Violence Against Women has several grant solicitations currently open for grants to assist with domestic violence needs. Application deadlines vary, with most due in February and one due in March. Also located on the website linked above is a schedule of the Office on Violence Against Women’s proposed grant solicitation dates for 2018. This calendar would be a helpful tool to plan for upcoming applications.

The number of American troops killed in Afghanistan and Iraq between 2001 and 2012 was 6,488. The number of American women who were murdered by current or ex partners who are male during that time was 11,766. That’s nearly double the number of casualties lost during war. These figures are courtesy The Huffington Post. Organizations across the country are working to stop the violence, help the victims, and stop the cycle.
