While the REMS program may no longer be offered, the REMS Technical Assistance website is still a great resource for schools facing emergency preparedness issues. The TA website offers free emergency planning resources including online classes, and your district does not have to be a current REMS recipient to access the materials. The Foundation Courses provide an introduction into the four phases of emergency management (prevention, preparedness, response, recovery), while the new Special Topics Courses focus on specific issues:
- Emergency Management and Students with Disabilities
- Bereavement in Schools
- Pandemic Flu Preparedness
- Developing an Emergency Management Plan
If you have an immediate funding need, or would like to find some alternative grant funding options in place of REMS, take advantage of The Grant Helpers Free Consultation. We'll learn about your district's goals and can help you secure the funding you need.
