While the American education system has put much money and effort toward improving in-class education in public schools, after-school programs are often harder to justify in already-stretched school budgets. When looking for a grant to fit your organization’s needs, consider both government grants and foundation grants.  While both types can provide the funding you need, government grants can take six months to a year for review while private foundations typically take only three months.  So, if you need a quicker turnaround, you may want to look at which private foundations are giving the most money and consider how you can appeal to those foundations’ goals.  Here are 10 foundations that are giving the most money.
