There are approximately 4,000-6,000 animal shelters in the United States providing temporary care for 8-10 million dogs and cats. Sadly, 4-6 million of these animals are euthanized annually, due to a lack of available homes or people willing to adopt them. Animal shelters and non-profit organizations that support animal rights need funding for programs, education, and even building projects.
