Organizations are trying to curb childhood hunger by connecting kids to effective nutrition programs like school breakfasts and increased access to fruits and vegetables during the school day. With the holidays approaching fast, it is a time to think of others—a time of giving. We applaud those organizations that give back during the holiday season by distributing food to individuals and families that have trouble putting food on the table. These food pantries, school backpack programs, meals for the homebound, and other organizations that make food a priority can’t operate just on food donations though.
