The United States Department of Justice (USDOJ) Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) Office has announced that it is accepting applications for three of its COPS programs. These programs might be of great interest to municipalities and the schools that serve them. The COPS Office still does not appear poised to reinstate the previous, well-known Secure Our Schools (SOS) program, but these three programs support some of the same areas, especially by providing grant funds for school resource officers (SROs).
